ABOUT THE EVENT
The 3nd annual Hope in the Ham party is a casual soiree with live music, open bar and delicious food from around the 'Ham. The funds raised at Hope in the Ham benefits the American Cancer Society Joe Lee Griffin Hope Lodge in Birmingham. If you haven't heard of the Hope Lodge, it's a place to stay when cancer treatment is far from home - but to cancer patients, it is so much more than just a roof over their heads, it's a nurturing community that helps patients access the care they need. The Hope Lodge provides cancer patients and their caregivers a free place to stay while receiving treatment.
The Joe Lee Griffin Hope Lodge opened it's doors in 2000 offering 33 guest rooms located near treatment centers in the area. The Hope Lodge community offers a supportive environment for patients and their caregivers, private guest rooms and bathrooms, fully equipped community kitchens for food storage and preparation, gathering areas and great rooms, free laundry rooms stocked with supplies, outdoor reflection spaces, and dedicated volunteers helping to ensure a comfortable stay for our guests and who frequently cook and provide meals.
